Nerium oleander also commonly known as soland, lorier bol, rosebay, and rose laurel and kaner. Belongs to the same family at Thevetia peruviana which I posted before (Family: Apocynaceae). Also contains cardiac glycosides in every part of the plant. There are reported cases of confirmed toxicity in the literature after ingestion of leaves from this plant. Just like in digoxin overdose, the toxicology involves the cardiovascular system. Fortunately the colourless sap of this plant has a very bitter taste so most infants would not chew on the leaves significantly.
